We first heard from Benji regarding his desire to remove a kitchen wall and reorient the layout to create a more open feel. After a preliminary consultation, we visited their home in Mechanicsburg to help him and his wife, Reece, walk through their options.

While they ultimately decided on a full kitchen remodel, they were concerned about staying within a specific budget. We were able to help them select high-quality cabinets and countertops that met their financial goals, and we even found a way to save their existing flooring to avoid unnecessary replacement costs.

Local Materials & Quality Selections

For the surfaces, the couple fell in love with a quartz countertop from Classic Rock, a local supplier. They visited the Mechanicsburg showroom to hand-select their specific slab and ensure the design was a perfect match.

For the cabinetry, they chose gray shaker-style Aristokraft cabinets from a local showroom. We recommended these because they are economically priced without sacrificing quality, featuring plywood boxes and dovetail drawers for long-term durability.

Smart Design Features

A few of our favorite custom features in this project include:

• Custom Microwave Nook: Built directly into the island to save counter space.

• Generously sized Island: Topped with a beautiful quartz slab and integrated dining area for maximum efficiency.

• Structural Wall Removal: We removed the wall separating the kitchen and living room, installing a structural beam to achieve the true open-concept space they envisioned.

The Finishing Touch

The standout feature of this kitchen is the unique Soho Soft Sage Scallop Mosaic tile backsplash, which Benji and Reece personally selected from Conestoga Tile in Harrisburg.
